The student council and the Future Business Leaders of America chapter at Morton Ranch High will be hosting a garage sale, with the community invited to sell and shop.
The garage sale is from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. May 13 at Morton Ranch High School, 21000 Franz Road. For vendors, check in is from 6:30-7:45 a.m. Clean-up is 1-2 p.m.
Vendor booth rental begins at $30. Food trucks Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade and Truck E Delphia will be serving breakfast and lunch.

Nine Katy ISD Destination Imagination are advancing to the Global Finals Tournament, to be held May 21-23 in Kansas City, Mo., to compete in creative problem-solving challenges.
The following teams will represent Katy ISD at the tournament.
At the recent Lone Star Finals State Tournament, The Nerd Herd from Morton Ranch High and DIdymos from Beck Junior High participated in a special Instant Challenge category and brought home top honors. The Ultimate Knights from Seven Lakes Junior High earned a Renaissance Award.
Megan Anton, Marcel Davis Trevor Hovance and Chase Truex have been named winners of the Ricky Scearce Memorial Scholarship. Thanks to the generosity of the Katy community and friends of the Scearce family, each of these students will be receiving a $5,000 college scholarship.
The Ricky Scearce Memorial Scholarship was created to honor long-time Katy ISD educator and community member, Ricky Scearce, and is given to graduating Katy ISD student-athletes each spring. For more information, visit the website scearcescholarship.com.
Nine Katy ISD students have received Coca-Cola Scholarship. Each recipient was awarded a $1,000 scholarship to use towards their education. The Katy ISD Coca-Cola partnership Scholarship is a fund created by a special contract between Katy ISD and the Houston Coca-Cola Bottling Company. One $1,000 scholarship was awarded at each high school.
To apply, students had to be in the top 25% of their graduating class as well as demonstrate good citizenship, leadership, extra-curricular participation, and community service. Winners are:
The 2023 Katy Summer Academic Term (KSAT) is offering programs for all eligible Katy ISD students grades Pre-K through 12. Programs are available for elementary, junior high and high school students. For more information, visit the website, the abbreviated URL for which is bit.ly/3NyXRdU.
The North Fort Bend Water Authority invites middle school and high school students to submit their artwork focusing on the importance of water. Six grand prize winners will receive a Visa gift card based on creativity, clarity and understanding of the subject. Please review the guidelines here.
Middle school students can win up to $200. High school students can win up to $300.

Nine students from Katy earned degrees from Texas State Technical College’s Fort Bend County campus, celebrating with the TSTS Spring 2023 Commencement held April 26 at the Stafford Centre in Stafford.
The students from Katy earning degrees are:
