Donald “Dale” Owen passed away on September 26, 2021, in Houston, at the age of 68 years. He was born on August 26, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Roy Dean Owen and Margaret Catherine Hill Owen. On July 12, 1974, he married Janice Sollock in Houston, Texas. In 1982, they moved to Katy where they have resided since.
Dale had a love of ancestry and history. He was also heavily involved in his children’s sports, enjoyed coaching softball, and was a member of the Volleyball Association. He attended Second Baptist Church, West Campus. Most importantly, he loved his family dearly and took special part in his role as Paw-paw with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janice Owen of Katy, Texas; children, Candace McCorkle and her husband Eric of Frisco, Texas, Christine Cole and her husband Bobby of Morton, Mississippi, and Craig Owen of Katy, Texas; ten grandchildren; siblings, Gail Begault and her husband Barry of New Orleans, Louisiana, Rex Owen of Katy, Texas, and Brenda Denker and her husband Mark of Katy, Texas; fur babies, Suzy, Tiger and Kitty; as well as other loving family members and friends.
A private Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held.
