Dennis Scott Dees, 56, died on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 after being involved in an automobile accident.
Dennis was born January 8, 1964 in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he spent his early years enjoying the beach and NASCAR. As a cub scout, he would watch the races then the troop would clean the stands. He truly enjoyed that and thus began his life-long love of racing. At the age of 14, he moved to Katy, Texas and attended Katy High School, graduating in 1982. Dennis enjoyed shop class and working on vehicles and upon graduation, attended Wyoming Technical Institute to study automotive technology. After graduating in 1983, Dennis began his 37-year career working for Mac Haik Chevrolet.
Holy Covenant United Methodist in Katy was Dennis’s church home for many years and he was very involved from teaching 4th and 5th Sunday School to helping anywhere else he was needed.
Dennis leaves behind his son, Donovan Joseph Dees; daughter, Hannah Nicole Dees; the mother of his children, Linda Marie Dees; mother, Judy Green; brother and sister-in-law, David and Jodi Dees, niece Jessica; her mom, Rebecca Dees; sister and brother-in law, Stacy and Blaine Dykes: niece and nephew, Caitlynn Dykes and Jeremiah Dykes; great-niece Raynee Lynn; aunt, Amy Ruland; cousin, Josh and Ashlynn Ruland and daughter Marcieline; step-son Justin Meikle and wife Angela and Aubrey; his best friend Paul Garrett; his girlfriend Ellen Barton and many friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Archie William Dees, Jr. on May 14, 2019, and stepfather Robert Green.
Dennis was loved by all and will be greatly missed but we can take comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord in Heaven and is watching over us.
