Fort Bend County Clerk Laura Richard will host a Back to School - Birth Certificate Event on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the County Clerk’s office located at the Travis Building, 301 Jackson Street in Richmond. Birth certificates for individuals born in Texas will be available for request.
“I am excited to open the office with special weekend hours to provide birth certificate services to those in the public who might not have the time in their busy schedules to come in during weekday hours,” County Clerk Richard said.
The Birth Certificate fees are $23.00, available to qualified applicants with valid identification. Forms needed to complete the process are available at the office and may be completed there. Information on fees, forms, and valid identification can be found on the County Clerk’s website www.fbctx.gov/birthcerts.
Maud Marks Library to celebrate its 30th anniversary
The Maud Marks branch of the Harris County Public Library System, located at 1815 Westgreen in Katy, will observe its 30th anniversary with a special celebration on July 24th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. A proclamation from Harris County Precinct 4 will open the event, which will feature music, crafts, games, face painting, pony rides, a balloon artist and square dancing, as well as a cake-cutting. A visit from the HCPL Curiosity Cruiser is also planned. The birthday celebration is sponsored in part by Shell Federal Credit Union. Brookshire’s new downtown amphitheater to hold grand opening July 29th
The Brookshire Economic Development Corporation has announced the grand opening of the area’s brand-new amphitheater at 4029 5th St. Brookshire, with festivities are set for Saturday, July 29th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The excitement kicks off with the opening ceremony with local, county, and state dignitaries present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Entertainment will be provided by the Earl Sanders Jr. Band from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by the Brown Sugar Band from 8:30 p.m., to 10 p.m. Pre-event music will be performed by the Royal ISD Band. Free popcorn and water will be provided for all attendees, with a variety of delectable foods available for purchase from food vendors.
