The Friends of the Katy Branch Library will hold a used book sale from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. March 11 at the Katy Branch Library, 5414 Franz Road. For more information, call the library at 281-391-3509.
Deborah Johnson, RN, of Fox Rehabilitation, will speak about physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services at 9 a.m. March 14 at the Fussell Senior Center, 5370 E. 5th St. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the center at 281-391-4837.
The Katy chapter of AARP will hold its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 14 at Midway Barbecue, 6191 Highway Blvd.
The meeting will start with a short meeting and announcements. Afterwards, the Larry Glass Band will perform. The band plays a variety of the most requested songs from country and pop/rock classics from the 1930s-70s. Visitors are welcome. Allow time to purchase any food before the meeting starts.
Dennis Gorden, West Harris County Regional Water Authority precinct 9 director, will speak about regional water issues at 9:30 a.m. March 16 at the Fussell Senior Center, 5370 E. 5th St. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the center at 281-391-4837.
Coffee with the Mayors, a free event where the public can enjoy refreshments with Katy’s current and former mayors, has been set for 7:30 a.m. March 23 at the Johnny Nelson Katy Heritage Museum, 6002 George Bush Dr.
The public is invited to a community forum to learn about Alzheimer’s, dementia and memory loss. Lunch will be provided.

Senior Night Out, which is organized by the City of Katy Fussell Senior Center, is set for 5:30 p.m. March 29 at Spring Creek Barbecue, 21000 Katy Fwy. One does not have to sign up or be a member. For more information, call the center at 281-391-4837.
The FBI Houston Field Office is now accepting applications for its upcoming Teen Academy. The event will be held from 8:15 a.m.-5 p.m. June 14 at the FBI Houston Field Office, 1 Justice Park Drive in Houston.
The FBI’s Teen Academy gives high school students a comprehensive look into the FBI during an eight-hour block of demonstrations and instruction provided by FBI agents and professional staff. Students are provided with multiple presentations delving into topics such as terrorism, cyber-crime, public corruption, forensic evidence collection, FBI SWAT capabilities, and a rare view into the day-to-day operations of a large FBI office.
This program is not exclusive to students only interested in careers in law enforcement. Any student who is at least a junior in high school but has not yet started college is encouraged to apply, regardless of anticipated major or academic discipline.
