Charles Wayne Larson passed away on April 30, 2022 in Katy, Texas. Wayne was born on March 23, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Clifford Wilburn and Mathilde Catherine Trossen Larson. He grew up and went to school in Grand Saline, Texas. Wayne served our country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed for 3 years in Japan.
On August 3, 1957, he married Dorothy Irene Drews. Their loving union gave them three children. Wayne and Dot were married for 55 years and lived in Katy for 43 years. In 2007, they moved to Cat Spring, Texas. Wayne worked as a carpenter for many years, and held employment at Heine’s Custom Draperies for at least 45 years.
Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dot; granddaughter, Jennifer Holub; parents, Clifford and Mathilde Larson; and brothers, Billy Larson and Dan Larson.
He leaves behind his loving son, Steve Larson and his wife Suzanne; his loving daughters, Teresa Holub and her husband Chris, and Cindy Judice and her husband Morris; his loving grandchildren, Jared Larson, Justin Holub and his wife Lynda, Garret Holub and his wife Elise, Amanda Judice and Melissa Martinez and her husband Joe; his great grandchildren, Samuel, Benjamin, Sarah, Rebekah, Mason, Eli, Faith, Austin and Mia; and his sister, Betty Hurley; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was a loving husband, dad, Papaw and Big Papaw and he will be truly missed by all of his family and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022, with Deacon William C. Wagner officiating. Interment in Katy Magnolia Cemetery.
