Century Communities welcomed its newest West Houston neighbors on Sept.12, with a grand opening celebration at Mirabella, a 318-acre community with Italian flair in the fast-growing I-10 corridor. The new community is located just north of FM 529 and just east of FM 362 at 1454 Catalina Drive in Brookshire.

The tailgate-themed event drew visitors with burgers, yard games and face painting as prospective buyers toured two fully furnished model homes and browsed available homesites. Attendees got an early look at a community designed to stand out through its lakes, waterways and walking trails, all carrying through the Italian design theme that gave Mirabella its name.

Mirabella joins the growing list of Century Communities developments already established in the area, including Sunterra Lakes directly across the street, Laurel Farms nearby in Brookshire, Katy Reserve in Katy, and Fulshear Junction and Fulshear Lakes in Fulshear. Together, the communities reflect the builder's bet on continued demand along the West Houston corridor, roughly 37 miles from downtown Houston and within easy reach of Katy-area shopping and dining.

Beyond the homes themselves, Century Communities outlined plans for two amenity sites within Mirabella — one anchored by a recreation center with a pool and playground, and a second featuring a pickleball court and dog park. Additional plans call for a fishing area, parks, open green space and trails winding past the community's signature lakes and waterways.

In addition to on-site tours, Century Communities offers an industry-first online homebuying experience, a company spokesperson said. This allows consumers to select a home, submit an earnest money deposit, and sign a purchase contract electronically.
