Our beloved sister, Carla LaKay Mayeaux, entered into God’s Kingdom on April 24, 2022, and has been delivered into the loving arms of Jesus and reunited with her mother and father. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing, in Katy, Texas.
Carla was born November 26, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a person with special needs, she was a blessing to many people throughout her life. As an adult, she lived in New Augusta, Mississippi, and was a member of ARC of Hattiesburg. After her mother’s passing, she lived in Katy, Texas, and was active in the lives of her family, friends, and neighbors. She relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, where she lived these last six years, embracing her independent spirit and developing bonds with new friends.
Carla was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Kay Hinton Brown; and her father, Carl Peter Mayeaux.
She is survived by her stepfather, Carl Dennis Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Edward Bayhi, and Robyn and James Yoder; her niece, Sarah Kai Bayhi; nephews, Jackson Morgan Bayhi and Mason James Yoder; and other loving family members.
Services were held at Jones and Son Funeral Home, in Richton, Mississippi on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Pastor Ken Ribelin officiated the service and interment followed in Singleton-Hinton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Edward Bayhi, James Yoder, Jackson Bayhi, Mason Yoder, Vernon “Butch” Travis, and David Swan, Jr.
