Katy ISD will hold a general election on May 2, 2026, with three board members facing re-election. Trustee positions 3, 4 and 5 will be on the ballot to serve a three-year term. Position 3 is currently held by former teacher Amy Thieme; Position 4 is now held by Morgan Calhoun, a community volunteer; and Position 5 is currently held by Mary Ellen Cuzela, a former software consultant and businesswoman. All three have served since 2023.
Applications for places on the ballot opened January 14 and will end at 5 p.m. on February 13.
As of press time for this week’s edition of the Katy Times, the following individuals have filed for a place on the ballot.
Position 3
· Cicely Taylor, an education administrator who has lived in the district for more than 20 years. Learn more about Taylor at https://cicelytaylor4katyisd.org.
Position 4
· David Greene, a business owner who has lived in the district for more than six years. As of press time, the Katy Times was unable to locate additional information for Auzenne Asonye. · Jim Davidson, a partner in a consulting firm and 22-year resident of the district. Position 5
