Briones announces ‘virtual listening tour’ set for August 15

Commissioner Lesley Briones, Harris County Precinct 4, will host a virtual listening tour on August 15 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and invites her constituents to join in in order to share their thoughts and concerns as well as to stay informed about progress being made in the precinct.

Since taking office, Briones has conducted a series of in-person “listening tours,” including several in the Katy area. “Your voice matters,” said Briones in a Facebook post.

Permanently protected through a conservation easement agreement with the landowners, this exceptional property is made up of globally rare coastal prairie (including several rare plants such as Bracted Grayfeather), coastal live oak forest, and restored grasslands and wetlands.

In a long and often contentious meeting Monday night, Katy ISD’s board of trustees met in the district board room at 6301 S. Stadium Lane to honor a local educator, approve property purchase for a new junior high school and receive updates on the district’s budget and on the district-wide program to improve student attendance.
