Bluebonnet Master Gardeners Association hosting Gardening Kids Kamp

Posted

The Bluebonnet Master Gardeners are offering a one-week gardening education camp in Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington counties this month.
The camp is an excellent 4-H record book activity. This is the third year that volunteers have joined together to develop a unique, hands-on program with goals to promote a love of gardening, develop an appreciation for the environment, give back to the community and develop healthy eating habits.
Each camp will accept children ages 10 through 13 with a maximum of 20 students per county. Activities over the course of the week will include worm composting, entomology, soil and gardening, nutrition and kitchen management, and food preservation. Kids Kamp hours are 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, with hands-on activities, projects, and more each day.
Kids Kamp is offered for one week in each county that the Bluebonnet Master Gardeners Association Represents:
Washington - June 3-7; Colorado - June 10-14; Fayette - June 17-21, and Austin - June 24-28.
The deadline to register is June 19. The cost for Kids Kamp is $25 per child for the entire week. Registration and online payment may be completed by visiting https://txmg.org/bluebonnet/kidskamp/. Additionally, applications may be picked up and returned at a local county extension office in Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington counties.
