Amazing Place, the area’s non-profit focused exclusively on helping families with the challenges of dementia and Alzheimer’s, broke ground on its second campus on Thursday, November 2nd. The facility, slated to open in 2025, is located at 621 Dematel Drive, Houston, 77094, near the intersection of Kingsland and S. Fry Road and adjacent to Houston Methodist’s Continuing Care Hospital.

“The Katy community is part of Amazing Place’s heritage—its founder Rev., Dean Robinson grew up in the area and the organization has been offering programming from the Hub in downtown Katy for several years,” said Helen Vollmer Caudle, interim communications director. “So, in a sense, this is a real homecoming for Amazing Place.”

“We are all very excited about our plans to support more families with brain health education, a day program for those with mild to moderate dementia and Alzheimer’s, and tons of caregiver classes, counseling and connections,” Vollmer added.

City of Katy Mayor Dusty Thiele and Council member Janet Corte attended the ceremony, along with other dignitaries.
