99 Cents Only Stores, in partnership with Folds of Honor, hosted an event at its Katy location on November 3rd, kicking off a month-long fundraising drive to recognize Military Families Month and Veterans Day. Folds of Honor provides scholarships to the families of America’s fallen or disabled servicemembers and the families of America’s first responders.

The store at 21961 Katy Freeway in Katy featured representatives from Folds of Honor who were available to share their stories of service.

As part of the campaign, 99 Cents will sell stars, each with its own unique barcode. Customers will have the opportunity to write the names of their loved veterans and active service members on these stars, which will then be displayed in the participating stores. The program runs from November 3 through November 30, coinciding with Military Families Month and Veterans Day

All 46 Texas- based 99 Cents Only stores will participate in this fundraiser. “We are honored to help support and bring more attention to this important effort for our military veterans and their families,” said Mike Simoncic, Chief Executive Officer of 99 Cents. “The Houston region is home to over 300,000 veterans, so this gives all of us an opportunity to honor their sacrifices and support the tremendous work Folds of Honor is doing in our communities.”
