32 Katy area swimmers named Academic All-Americans

Over 353,936 students are involved in aquatics at the high school level with only 2% of those students making it to the All-American level in swimming diving, water polo or academic excellence  where a minium of a 3.75 GPA is required.

32 Katy area swimmers named Academic All-Americans

15 swimmers from Katy ISD were named to the NISCA Academic All-American team over the past week.

Over 353,936 students are involved in aquatics at the high school level with only 2% of those students making it to the All-American level in swimming diving, water polo or academic excellence  where a minium of a 3.75 GPA is required.

Taylor placed 10 on the list, with Gerardo Angulo, Kristian Duddridge, Konstantin Iginiamre, Kevin Jimenez, Andrew Lee, Callum Lee, Alexander Newcomb, Nicholas Schmid, Hayden Silkenson and Matthew Xu being named Academic All-Americans.

Seven Lakes had five students made the Academic All-American team, Logan Arnold, Diego Cardona, Archit Goyal, Christopher Ho and Alexander Lee.

On the girls side, Seven Lakes Nicole Avarado, Fiona Barroso, Alva Bjelland, Gracelyn Cox, Mikayla Kaplan, Selma Moulai-Khatir, Gabrielle Wahjosoedibjo and Lauren Yao were named to the team.

Taylors’ Samantha Barton, Natalia Casas, Nicole Huang, Michelle Jimenez, Katherine Roth, Emma Watts and Emma Xiao were named to the team.

For private school’s St. John XXIII’s Gabrielle Docog and Madelyn Kinane were named Academic All Americans.

Each student recognized receives a certificate noting their selection to the All-American team.
