“It’s a great experience to have and to be a part of,” Hicks said. “Those kids are big, fast and strong. It’s a different level and it almost felt like I was back in the NFL. It’s a lot of the top 300 players in the nation all in one place. It was truly a special thing to be able to coach all of those guys.”

“They all are disciplined and they’ve already put in that hard work,” Hicks said. “They know what they have to do to succeed. They had that structure in place and they thrived. I think the three of them, no matter where they go, no matter what they end up doing in life, they’re going to be successful."

Royal had a good number of students named to the District 10-4A, Division II All-District football team after a very strong season in which the Falcons finished second in district, only lost two games and made it back to the playoffs.
