The I-10 shootout is back, as top girls teams from across the state will converge on Katy to kick off the 2023 season.
The tournament will include 15 of the 20 ranked teams in Class 6A-Region III in the Lethal Enforcer Texas High School Soccer rankings, as most of the Houston powerhouses will show up along with the Katy schools.
Seven Lakes, which is ranked second in the region behind Ridge Point, will host the Spartan bracket which will include Cy-Woods, Foster Friendswood, George Ranch, Memorial, Montgomery and Wakeland.
Katy, the No. 4 ranked team in the region, will be in a bracket with Alvin, Clear Springs, Cy-Lakes, Elkins, Fulshear, La Porte and St. Agnes. Tompkins, which is ranked No. 6, will be in a bracket alongside Jordan which is ranked No. 12, Atascocita, Clear Lake, Cy-Fair, Cy-Ranch, Mansfield Legacy and Tomball Memorial.
Cinco Ranch, the No. 11 ranked team in the region, will be with Bellaire, Bridgeland, Dawson, Lake Creek, Lake Highlands, San Antonio Churchill and Shadow Creek in the Cougar bracket. Taylor will play in a bracket with Clements, Cy-Falls, Cy-Ridge, Deer Park, Lamar, Manvel and Richardson. Morton Ranch will be with Cy-Park, Houston Heights, Jersey Village, Kingwood, Lumberton, Oak Ridge and Travis.
Paetow will compete with Brazoswood, Cy-Creek, Fort Bend Austin, Fort Bend Kempner, Langham Creek, Waller and Westside. Mayde Creek’s bracket will have Aldine Davis, Canyon Lake, Cy-Springs, Santa Fe, Summer Creek, Westbury and Willis.
The teams will all compete Thursday-Saturday, battling in both a winners and consolation bracket, with the winners moving on to play at Legacy or Rhodes Stadium on Saturday with a chance to win their bracket. Brackets and schedules can be found online here.
