The event enables Katy-area foodies to come together and sample delicious bites while supporting local non-profit organizations focusing on the environment, food security and vulnerable children.

At its Jan. 10 meeting at City Hall, the Katy City Council voted to increase the groundwater reduction fees charged by the West Harris County Regional Water Authority to $2.19 per 1,000 gallons of water, effective Jan. 15. The vote was unanimous but there was no joy at the council table that night.

Think of the term “construction worker,” and chances are the image of a man, in jeans and a hard hat and tool belt, comes to mind. But as Katy continues to grow, more construction workers are needed. A relatively new outreach program, which will be introduced March 21 in Katy, will work to help change that construction worker image.
