St. John XIII College Prepatory and Faith West Academy had their classifications revealed for the 2022-2024 school years with the new TAPPS realignment.
For St. John XXIII, the Lions will move down to 5A after competing in 6A in the last realignment.
St. John XXIII will compete in 5A in cross volleyball, country, track and field, golf and tennis. They will compete in Division II in football, soccer, baseball, softball and swimming.
The Lions were in 5A and Division II up until the 2017-2018 school year, and went to the Division II championship football game in 2013 and won the Division V state championship game in 2018.
The Lions will play in a district with Fort Bend Christian, Lutheran South, Monsignor Kelly, Second Baptist and The Woodlands, five teams will advance to the playoffs out of the district.
Faith West will make the move to 3A where they will compete in Division IV in softball and baseball and Division III in soccer and swimming. They will compete in six-man Division II in football.
The Eagles will play in a district including Bryan Allen Academy, Covenant Christian, First Baptist Christian Academy, Legacy Christian Academy, St. Francis Episcopal and Westbury Christian.
The British International School of Houston will compete in 4A and Division III next year. They will play in a district comprised of Bay Area Christian, Cypress Christian, Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy, Logos Preparatory Academy and St. Thomas’ Episcopal School.
St. John XXIII and Faith West will all be back on the field this fall for football season. St. John XXIII will start the season against Village High before taking on Houston Chrsitian, Van Vleck and Resurrection Christian before heading into its district schedule. For Faith West, they will start against Logos Preparatory Academy before taking on Bryan St. Joseph, Baytown Christian and Giddings State before starting its district schedule.
