Seven Lakes and Taylor won their brackets at the I-10 shootout in what was a great weekend of competition hosted by the Katy ISD schools, as everyone gets ready for the grind of district schedules.
Seven Lakes won the Spartan bracket, topping Cy-Woods in the final 1-0 and having Vicki Ott win a player of the tournament award for her work in the bracket. Seven Lakes started the tournament with a 3-0 win over Montgomery before beating Wakeland 2-1 o get to the final.
Taylor finished as the champions of the Mustang bracket after beating Clements 3-1 in the final, after beating Cy-Falls 4-0 in the first round and beating Lamar 2-1 in the second round. Kendall Hemperley was named the player of the tournament for the Taylor bracket as well as the Mustangs had a strong finish before heading back to District 19-6A play next week.
Mayde Creek fell in the final of the Ram bracket, 9-0 to Summer Creek, and had Alexia Richard named as one of the players of the tournament. The Rams had rolled through the first two games of the tournament, beating Aldine Davis 8-0 and Westbury 7-0 before falling to Summer Creek.
Jordan fell in the final of the Falcon bracket after Tompkisn fell in the semifinal on penalties to Tomball Memorial. Jordan also made it to penalties before losing 4-2 and had Alex Ledbetter named one of the players of the tournament. The Warriors made the final after topping Cy-Ranch 2-1 and beating Cy-Fair 3-0.
Katy also made it to the final of their Tiger bracket, but lost in penalties to St. Agnes, 5-4 after things ended 0-0 in regulation. Katy made the final after beating Clear Springs 2-0 and La Porte 4-0, the Tigers also had Alejandra Yague named one of the players of the tournament.
Cinco Ranch lost in the first round of the Cougar bracket, which was won by Bridgeland and Paetow lost in the first round of the Panther bracket, which was won by Brazoswood, while Morton Ranch fell in the first round of the Mavericks bracket, which was won by Lumberton.
