Harvest Festival Parade, featuring

decorated floats and vehicles — most

with rice, historic, or Katy themes.

Antique vehicles from the Johnny

Nelson Museum led the way for

parade participants, which included

city officials, school groups, nonprofit

organizations, churches and area

businesses.

Rice Harvest Festival

kicks off with annual parade

Families gathered early along Avenue C on Saturday morning, October 7th, to view the annual Rice Harvest Festival Parade, featuring decorated floats and vehicles — most with rice, historic, or Katy themes.  Antique vehicles from the Johnny Nelson Museum led the way for parade participants, which included city officials, school groups, nonprofit organizations, churches and area businesses. State Representative Jacy Jetton also participated, along with representatives from Harris County Precinct 4.
Starting this weekend, the Rice Harvest Festival — Katy’s annual hometown celebration — features three days of fun and festivities in the square in historic down- town near Avenue C and Second Street: • Friday, October 13th 6 to 10 p.m. Live music, the carnival, food trucks and beer. Free admission. • Saturday, October 14th 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Full day of craft vendors, live music, and food trucks. There will be fun for the whole family, including a kids/teen zone, craft beer, and expanded food area. FREE SHUT- TLE SERVICE to and from the Merrell Center all day. Adults $10 - Children 12 and under FREE. • Sunday, October 15th 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The fun continues for more time to shop, eat and enjoy family activities. FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE to and from Merrell Center all day. Adults $10 - Children 12 and under FREE. The event is hosted by the City of Katy, in conjunc- tion with The Rotary Club of Katy. All net proceeds from the Katy Rice Harvest Festival will benefit The Ro- tary Club of Katy fund for scholarships and donations to the local Katy community
