Katy moved up one spot in this week’s Dave Campbell Texas Football Rankings in week four, improving to No. 15 after a big win over Morton Ranch in the first week of district play.

Katy bounced back from a loss with a 47-7 win over Morton Ranch in its District 19-6A opener. The Tigers were led by Fayo George, the sophomore call up running back had a big day and ran for two touchdowns in the win, while two-way player Aqualis Jordan added another rushing touchdown on the ground. Gunner Nelson had three touchdowns through the air, two of which went to Israel Olotu-Judah and another that went to Jon Stephens while Katy’s defense was huge, allowing just one score while also getting a safety. Isaiah McMillan also nearly added a punt return touchdown.

Katy improved by one spot and sixth highest ranked Houston area school in the poll, behind North Shore, Summer Creek, Atascocita, The Woodlands and Fulshear. The Tigers continue district play on Friday against Cinco Ranch.
