Game times have been changed for this week's Katy ISD football games because of the excessive heat in the area.

The changes effect varsity to freshman teams as the school distrrict attempts to carry out games more safely.

For varsity games, games being played at Rhodes Stadium have been updated to 7:30, while games at Legacy Stadium will have an 8 p.m. start time, pushing the game times back an hour at Rhodes Stadium and 45 minutes at Legacy Stadium.  

This will effect six games this week, Morton Ranch's game against Eisenhower will be played at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Rhodes Stadium, while Seven Lakes game against Memorial will be played at 8 p.m. at Legacy Stadium . 

Cinco Ranch's game against College Park will be played at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Rhodes Stadium while Mayde Creek will face Westside at 8 p.m. Friday at Legacy Stadium.

Katy's season opener against Clear Springs will have a start time of 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Rhodes Stadium while Tompkins' game against Cy-Ranch will be played at 8 p.m. at Legacy.

For subvaristy games, 9B, Sophomore or singe games will start at 6 p.m., while 9A and JV games will be played at 7:30 p.m. or immediately following the game before it. 

Sub varsity games will have 10 minute quarters with five minute breaks after the first and third quarters and a 10 minute halftime break.
