Hale, Stone promoted to principals at Golbow, Taylor

Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski has promoted two internal administrators to new principal roles for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Jessica Hale was appointed as the new principal at Golbow Elementary. She began working for the district in 2008 as a social studies teacher at Cardiff Junior High. In 2013, she became the assistant principal at Mayde Creek Junior High. She became the Student Support Administrator in 2015.

Hale has a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Houston as well as a Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar University.

Melinda Stone was appointed as the new principal of Taylor High School after having worked for 22 years in Katy ISD as a teacher, coach, instructional technologist, and administrator. She has taught Spanish at Mayde Creek High School and was promoted to an instructional technology facilitator in 2004. Stone also served as the sixth-grade assistant principal and student support at Mayde Creek Junior High, assistant principal at Tompkins High School from 2013-2016, and as associate principal at Katy High School. Before being appointed as Taylor High School’s principal, she worked as the principal at WoodCreek Junior High for the last four years.

Stone has a Bachelor of Arts in both Communications and Spanish from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Science in Educational Management and Instructional Technology as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston in Clear Lake.
