The Coastal Prairie Conservancy invites landowners, conservation partners, students, and individuals passionate about land conservation to the 2024 “Lands & Legacies Conference.” This event, a collaboration between the Texas Coastal Prairie Initiative (TCPI) and the Texas Grasslands and Savannas Initiative (TGSI), will take place on Thursday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday, October 25, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The George Ranch, 10215 FM 762 Rd, Richmond.

The conference offers a unique opportunity for attendees to come together to discuss the preservation of Texas's wide-open spaces. Topics will include conservation success stories, new conservation easement funding opportunities in Texas, land management guidance, and more. The first day will be packed with informative presentations and workshops, followed by field trips to remnant and restored prairies, working ranches, and farms on the second day.

Mary Anne Piacentini, President and CEO of the Coastal Prairie Conservancy, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in conservation. “This conference offers an opportunity for us to come together to discuss Texas land conservation. By working together, we can increase the impact of conservation in the region and create a legacy of stewardship that benefits both the environment and the community.”

Elisa Donovan, Vice President and General Counsel of the Coastal Prairie Conservancy, highlighted the pivotal role of landowners in this effort. “Landowners play a critical role in maintaining the ecological health and beauty of Texas. Their dedication to preserving their land helps ensure a resilient and beautiful Texas for future generations.”

General admission to the two-day event is $85.00; students may attend for only $45.00. Landowners may receive a free ticket by emailing information@coastalprairieconservancy.org to claim their seat. For more information and to register, please visit prairiepartner.org/2024conference.
