Cinco Ranch built an early lead but fell 6-2 to Ridge Point on Friday night, as the Panthers evened the series at one after Cinco took game one on Thursday.
Cinco started the game strong but Ridge Point mounted a comeback behind strong pitching to take the win.
Ridge Point got a double in the first inning, but Brayden Hodge pitched out of the jam and did the same thing in the second, as the Panthers loaded the bases but Hodge again got out of things, forcing Ridge Point into a fielders choice and a ground out to end the inning.
Cinco then took the lead in the bottom of the second. Logan Sosolik walked to start it and Charlie Atkinson came to the plate and drilled a two-run home run to deep left center field.
But mistakes would start to cost the Cougars from there. Ridge Point trimmed the Cougars lead to one in the third inning on a wild pitch and then scored two runs of errors in the fourth inning while getting another on a sacrifice grounder. Things stayed at 5-2 until the sixth inning, when Ridge Point added another run with an RBI double.
The deciding game three of the series will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday at Langham Creek, as the Cougars will try to advance to their first ever regional semifinal.
