It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Bennett, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed through death into Eternal Life to be with her beloved Savior Jesus Christ on September 27, 2024.

Born on July 28, 1944 to Evangeline (Staats) and Milton Falkenberg, Carol was a beacon of love and faith, leaving a profound impact on everyone she encountered. Carol graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston, TX, before pursuing higher education at Texas Lutheran College (now University) in Seguin, TX, where she met her beloved husband, Harold Bennett, Jr. They were united in marriage on August 12, 1967, in the Chapel of the Abiding Presence on the Texas Lutheran campus, a beautiful symbol of their shared faith and commitment to one another. As an elementary education teacher, Carol devoted her life to nurturing and inspiring young minds. She was best known for her unwavering love for her family, her deep faith in the Lutheran tradition, her beautiful singing voice, and her exceptional cooking skills that brought joy to countless gatherings.

Her love for sports started when she would accompany her Athletic Trainer husband to countless games over the years of their marriage, continued as she attended every sporting event her children participated in, and finished in her final years enjoying the Houston Texans, but especially the Houston Astros. In her leisure time, Carol found joy in reading, watching the Game Show Network, and indulging in her favorite treats of Blue Bell ice cream and Peanut M&Ms. Her ability to create joy in simple pleasures was a testament to her loving spirit.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Evangeline and Milton Falkenberg, and her cherished grandson, Tyler Reid Robinson. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Harold Bennett, Jr.; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Vanessa Bennett; her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Thomas Robinson; and her son and daughter-in-law, John and Rebecca Bennett. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Jared Bennett and wife Amy, Caleb Robinson, Jordan Bennett, Jaiden Bennett, and Jenna Bennett, as well as her great-grandchildren Jackson and Abigail Bennett. Carol is also mourned by her brothers and sisters-in-law Howard and Diane Falkenberg, Ralph and Sandy Falkenberg, and Mark and Jennifer Falkenberg, along with many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins. Carol will be remembered not only for her incredible spirit and devotion but also for the countless lives she touched with her kindness and love.

A visitation will be held at Katy Funeral Home on October 9th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A burial will be held at Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, October 10th at 10:15am. A celebration of her life will be held at Living Word Lutheran Church in Katy after the burial on Thursday, October 10th at 12:30pm with a reception immediately following.

Rest in peace, dear Carol. Your legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who knew you.
