Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux broke ground Friday at 11 a.m. at 23213 Grand Circle Blvd. in Katy, near Katy Asian Town at the intersection of I-10 and The Grand Parkway. This is the Louisiana-inspired restaurant’s first location in the Katy area.

“We’re so excited to bring Walk-On’s to Katy,” said Franchisee Paul Alfonso. “After opening our first Walk-On’s in Spring last summer, we couldn’t wait to continue our journey with the brand and open another.”

Walk-On’s is expected to open this coming summer and will begin hiring about 200 staff to run the 8,200-square-foot restaurant which will be the chain’s 16th Texas location. Once hiring begins, applicants can visit the restaurant’s careers website to apply.

Dishes at the restaurant focus on Cajun cuisine and are made from scratch in the on-site kitchen. The menu features twists on game-day staples and upscale takes on Louisiana mainstays such as crawfish etouffee, duck and andouille gumbo and Krispy Kreme Donut bread pudding.

A full menu can be found at www.walk-ons.com.

Walk-On’s is based in Baton Rouge and was founded in 2003 by Louisiana State University walk-on basketball player Brandon Landry.
