Paetow installs new state championship sign

Posted

There’s some new bling that every Paetow student will see when entering the school this fall.

A new sign has been put up at the main entrance of the high school, celebrating the 2021 football team for winning a Class 5A state championship last December.

The sign of state champions is the first for Paetow, as the football teams state championship was the first in the schools history after opening five years ago.

The Panthers went 15-1 on the year and 7-1 in district, clinching their first ever district title in football and winning their final seven games en route to the state championship, which they won 27-24 in overtime over College Station.

On the heels of their state championship year, the Panthers will great back up for fall practice in the second week of August, before opening the season and being celebrated as state champions against Conroe at Legacy Stadium. Paetow, which makes the jump to Class 6A this season, will play Morton Ranch in its first ever District 19-6A game on Sept. 9 at Rhodes Stadium.
