The Katy Economic Development Council will announce the prestigious Stan Stanley awards on August 20 at a breakfast meeting at the Embassy Suites at 16435 Katy Freeway in Houston. Networking begins at 8 a.m., followed by the meeting at 8:30 a.m. The annual awards recognize two individuals who make exemplary contributions to the Katy community and to economic growth. The “Volunteer of the Year” award honors a dedicated volunteer who has selflessly served the Katy community or economic development initiatives, demonstrating leadership, commitment and significant achievements. The “Elected Official of the Year” recognizes an elected leader who has displayed outstanding service in public authority roles and contributed significantly to economic and community development projects, showcasing outstanding leadership and notable achievements.
