Jennings Larry Sizemore was born July 31, 1945 in Elkridge, West Virginia. Growing up Larry lived in West Virginia and Ohio. He graduated high school in Jefferson, Ohio. He joined the United States Air Force in 1965 and was a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War. During his time of service he met his wife Wanda Sizemore in Amarillo, Texas and would have celebrated their 54th year on August 4th. Larry and Wanda loved traveling and have been to every state in the United States except Alaska and have resided in Ohio, California, and Grand Cayman but moved to Katy, Texas in 1979 where they made Katy their home.
Larry loved Katy and especially Katy High School Football. Larry had several kids and grandkids play for Katy football and/or graduate from Katy High School. He attended as many games as he could. He remained a Katy Tiger Fan until his last breath. His pride and joy was without a doubt his family. He loved family vacations, fishing trips, traveling, boating, SCUBA diving and singing with his family.
Larry is survived by his wife, Wanda Eileen Sizemore; his eldest daughter, Daphney Judith Kirby and her husband Kent Kirby; his son Brian Jennings Sizemore and his wife Melisa Sizemore; his youngest daughter, Wendy Dawn Sidwell-Sizemore; his Grandchildren, Randall Hilliard and his wife Sara Hilliard; Ryan Hilliard and his wife Libby Hilliard; Kendall Sizemore and his wife Lauren Sizemore; Kailey Sizemore; and Alyssa Sidwell; Step-Granddaughters, Katy Piskorick, Kristie Murr, Sarah Kirby; his Great-Grandchildren; Logan Hilliard; Brady Hilliard; Rhett Hilliard; Rhyder Hilliard; Sawyer Jennings Sizemore; and Emerson Sizemore. His Brother Gerald Sheets; eldest sister Maxine McCoy; sister Dottie Placek; brother Lyle Sizemore and his wife Susan Sizemore; brother Bruce Sizemore and his wife Karen Sizemore; brother-n-law Wayne McCoy; brother-n-law Fred Lightman; brother-n-law Homer Winfrey; brother-n-law Don Hanson; brother-n-law Jerry Sadler and his wife Irene Sadler; brother-n-law Ralph Sadler and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Jennings “Jink” Sizemore; mother, Thelma Alease Sheets-Sizemore; sister, Wanda Hanson; sister, Faye Winfrey; sister, Bonnie Lightman; brother, Blair Sizemore.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no funeral services are planned at this time. Upon a later designated date Larry Sizemore will be laid to rest honorably at the Houston National Cemetery of Veteran Affairs in Houston, Texas.
