Top honors include the elementary and secondary Principals of the Year, Teachers of the Year and Rookie Teachers of the Year.

Districtwide Principals of the Year

  • Anna Hinojosa, Wolfe Elementary School
  • Elisabeth Brodt, Adams Junior High School

Districtwide Teachers of the Year

  • Shelby Biswas, Stanley Elementary School
  • Matthew Lobin, Mayde Creek High School

Districtwide Rookie Teachers of the Year

“Our educators are the backbone of Katy ISD because of their talent, work ethic, resilience and passion for students,” Superintendent Ken Gregorski said.  “I am honored to work alongside these individuals who continuously set the bar for current and future educators at Katy ISD.”

All Katy ISD “Of the Year” employees will be recognized at a district-wide ceremony April 20. Additionally, the principals of the year, along with campus administrators from school districts in the surrounding area, will be recognized at the Region 4 Principal Recognition Ceremony April 5.

Texas Exes Katy Chapter to host inaugural scholarship fundraiser dinner

The Texas Exes Katy Chapter will be hosting its inaugural Scholarship Fundraiser Dinner at 6 p.m. April 13 at the Club at Falcon Point, 24503 Falcon Point Dr.

Former Longhorns quarterback Vince Young will be guest of honor.

The Texas Exes Katy Chapter has been active for about five years. It works to keep Katy-area University of Texas alumni connected to their alma mater by hosting events such as watch parties for Longhorn games, a Texas Independence Day celebration and community service at the Ballard House. Despite the pandemic, the club has given scholarships to Katy-area high school seniors going to the University of Texas each of the last three years.

The scholarship fundraiser dinner will showcase the chapter while raising money for Katy-area scholarships. The dinner will feature a silent auction and Young will be recognized guest of honor.
