Fall Community Campout scheduled for November 17-18

Pack your tent and sleeping bags for a night of FREE family fun, including an outdoor movie, activities, dinner, s’mores, and a light breakfast at the Fall Community Campout, held by the City of Katy’s Parks and Recreation Department. The event takes place November 17—1 at VFW Park, 5202 George Bush Drive in Katy. Set-up begins Friday at 4 p.m. and camp breaks by 9 a.m. on Saturday.


Santa Returns to Katy Mills for the Holidays

Simon®, the parent company of Katy Mills Mall, is pleased to announce Santa visits for families as part of the Simon Santa Photo Experience at Katy Mills Mall, 5000 Katy Mills Circle in Katy. Santa arrives on November 16th and will be available until Christmas Eve. The Santa Photo Experience launches on Thursday, November 16th and will be open on Monday – Sunday until December 24th. • Pet Photos – Sunday, December 10th from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
• Story time & Cookies with Santa – Friday, December 15th from 2 to 3 p.m. *Space is limited. Available to first 50 guests*

YMCA Turkey Dash holds its 21st annual event on Thanksgiving morning

Work off those holiday calories – and help the community – by participating in the YMCA’s annual Turkey Dash, to be held at the Monty Ballard YMCA at Cinco Ranch, 22807 Westheimer Pkwy in Katy. The Thanksgiving Day tradition – now in its 21st year -- features a 10K run/walk, a 5K run/walk, a family 1-mile run/walk and a kids’ 1-mile run/walk. Registration includes a T-shirt, finisher medals for the 10K, 5K and kids’ 1-mile events, a race bib, and race packet. Funds raised from the event ensure that the Katy YMCAs can continue to service the community through programs providing opportunities to learn, grow and thrive. Visit Dewberry Farms to get your Christmas Tree and enjoy a “Merry Berry Christmas”

The tradition is back, starting November 24th! Gather the family and take a wagon ride to the Christmas Tree Forest at Dewberry Farms to find the perfect tree. You may cut the tree yourself or one of the Dewberry Farms team members can assist you. The family-friendly venue will also open “A Merry Berry Christmas November 24th through December 23rd. Bring the whole family for a day choc-full of Texas-sized Christmas fun with two dazzling Light Shows, and over 40 rides and attractions for the kiddos.

Hutsell Elementary hosts Candyland STEAM night and rings in the holidays with Winter Concert on November 30th
Hutsell Elementary invites you to a “Candyland STEAM Night” on Thursday, November 30th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the campus at 5360 Franz Road, Katy. The event features constellations, dash robots, circuit boards, catapults, slime, bracelets, bookmarks, and raffles. The fifth-grade winter concert will be held the same evening at 6 p.m.
