The City of Katy Monday lifted its stage 3 mandatory water restrictions as rainy conditions continue in the Katy area. Through Monday night, Katy has received 0.84 inches of rain during the past week, according to the Harris County Flood Warning System.

Despite lifting the restrictions, city officials ask residents to continue conserving water. City residents with questions are asked to call the city’s Public Works Department at 281-391-4820.

Wet conditions are expected to continue this week.

The National Weather Service said showers and thunderstorms are likely Tuesday, mainly before 5 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a high in the high 80s. Chance of rain is 60%.

By Tuesday night, the Weather Service said, there will be a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low around 75.

Rain is expected to return Wednesday, with a 60% chance of showers and thundershowers after 1 p.m. Skies will be partly sunny with a high of 93. Conditions will remain hot with heat index values as high as 103.

By Wednesday night, the Weather Service said, there will be a 40% percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 75.

Thursday’s forecast calls for a 60% chance of rain, mainly after 1 p.m. Skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 91.
