Tompkins fell in two games to Ridge Point as the Falcons season came to an end in the regional quarterfinal round.

Game one was a heartbreaker for Tompkins, as they lost 2-1 with a come from behind effort by Ridge Point in the seventh inning.

Trevor Esparza took the loss for Tompkins despite a huge game on the mound, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four and walking none over 6.2 innings.

The Falcons took the lead in the fourth inning. Drew Markle hit a one out single and advanced on an error before Landon West drove Markle in on a single.

But the offense was a struggle for Tompkins all night, as they mustered just five hits and were unable to get a run across.

Things stayed a one run game until the bottom of the seventh. After two quick outs, the Panthers were able to get a single and then tied things on an RBI double before another single gave them a walk off victory.

But game two was a different story, as Ridge Point jumped out to an early lead and never gave it up in a 9-7 win that clinched the series.

The Panthers got a run in the first on a sacrifice fly and doubled their lead in the second on an error, before making things 3-0 in the third on an RBI single.

Tompkins trimmed the lead to one run in the third inning when Jack Little drove in two runs on a single, but Ridge Point scored four runs in the top of the sixth to break things open.

Tompkins though, didn’t go down without a fight. Almost pulling off the comeback in the seventh inning. The Falcons got a walk and a single to start the inning before the first our came, and got another single before Drew Markle drove in two on a single of his own. After a hit by pitch and another single, Adam Benavidez was hit by a pitch, trimming the Ridge Point lead to three. After the second out of the inning came, Ridge Point walked in a run, makings things 9-7, but a line out by the next batter ended things as the Falcons fell just short.
