Tompkins’ Herrman named district MVP

The senior outside hitter finished the season with 361 kills, 54 aces, 445 digs, 28 blocks and six assists while helping Tompkins to an undefeated district record and regional quarterfinal appearance. Herrman is committed to play volleyball at the Texas Tech.

Tompkins’ Herrman named district MVP

Paris Herrman was named the District 19-6A volleyball most valuable player, the district announced on its All-District volleyball team.

The senior outside hitter finished the season with 361 kills, 54 aces, 445 digs, 28 blocks and six assists while helping Tompkins to an undefeated district record and regional quarterfinal appearance. Herrman is committed to play volleyball at the Texas Tech.

Katy’s Maddie Waak was named outstanding setter of the year and Izzy Denton was named defensive player of the year. Waak finished the season with 341 kills, 910 assists, 524 digs, 57 blocks, and 69 aces. Denton finished the season with 833 digs, 8 kills and 53 aces. Waak is committed to play volleyball at Louisiana State University while Denton is committed to play at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Tompkins’ Cindy Tchouangwa was named outstanding setter. The junior hitter finished the year with 402 kills, 59 blocks, 263 digs, 15 aces and five assists.

Cinco Ranch’s Kassie O’Brien was named newcomer of the year. The setter closed out her freshman campaign with 419 assists, 181 digs, 63 kills, 22 blocks and 21 aces.

Danielle Wells was named coach of the year after leading a young Cinco Ranch team to third in district and a regional quarterfinal appearance.
