The Houston Chronicle High School preseason Houston media poll was released Tuesday and Katy High was ranked No. 1 in Class 6A, taking home 7 of the 11 first place votes.
The Tigers topped the poll, followed by North Shore and Atascocita, while Tompkins came in at No. 5 in Class 6A. Taylor received votes but was not in the top 20.
In Class 5A, Paetow was ranked No. 3, behind Manvel and Fort Bend Marshall.
El Campo was ranked No. 1 in the small school poll, taking home seven first place votes, while East Bernard and Huffman-Hargrove each had one first place vote.
Second Baptist led the way in the private school poll.
