Supply Bridge Ministries donates food, water and supplies to Katyites in need
On Wednesday, July 10 Katy area residents were able to get free water at the Academy Sports + Outdoors store at23155 Katy Freeway in Katy. Starting at 9 a.m., five Academy stores across Houston distributed free 24-packs of bottled water to help those affected by Hurricane Beryl. Customers were directed to look for the 18-wheeler parked in front each of the five stores to pick up their free case of bottled water (no purchase necessary). Academy planned to donate nearly 8,000 24-packs of water in total to the greater Houston area, according to a company press release.

The drive-through event took place on Friday, July 12 in front of NBD Graphics at 917 S. Mason, Katy. NBD Graphics General Manger Nicholas Doherty said that they hoped to serve 300 families. “We are receiving trucks from Convoy of Hope thanks to our partners at Children like Loni and we have received an amazing outpouring of donations and volunteers from many in our local Katy area community,” Doherty said on the SBM Facebook page.
