Royal is back in the playoffs.
The Falcons clinched their first playoff berth since 2017 on Friday night, with a huge 47-7 win over La Marque, as Royal improved to 8-1 on the season and 4-1 in District 10-4A-Division II play.
It’s been a resurgent year for Royal, who is in the midst of its best season since 2010, and has a chance to make it an even better season than that year with a win next week. The Falcons are currently averaging 34 points per game while giving up under 14 points per game.
Royal finishes the regular season by traveling to Columbia next Friday and would lock up the second seed in district and a home playoff game in the bi-district round with a win.
