Kurt said that local student Nico Reyes, who last year at 11 years old became the first child in the world with Down Syndrome to complete a triathlon in the sprint category, would be returning for this year’s race. In 2023 Nico set the world record as recognized by the Guiness Book of World Records for that achievement.
Kurt also said that volunteers are still needed to assist with the event.
