Harris County residents may obtain in-person assistance through a county grant program today at The Bridge Church located at 14880 Bellaire Blvd. in Houston from 3-7 p.m. The event will assist in filing of applications for millions of dollars in emergency rental assistance through the Houston-Harris County Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
Volunteers will be on-site with laptops and other resources to help applicants apply for rental assistance. In order to qualify, applicants must show that they have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, are experiencing housing instability and have a household income at or below 80% of the area median family income. Attendance at the event is not required to apply and applications may also be submitted through the houstonharrishelp.org website.
Those filing for assistance may also call 832-402-7568 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
More than $207 million in housing aid has already been allocated to applicants and more than 54,000 families have been aided by the program which is being run by BakerRipley and Catholic Charities on behalf of Houston and Harris County.
