Mayvenn, a Black-owned beauty-tech company, has officially opened its first retail shop inside of a local Walmart at 6060 N. Fry Road in the Katy area. The favorite online hair destination has unveiled its new Extensions Lounge as an inclusive one-stop-shop, offering an elevated shopping experience for hair extension and wig products as well as a variety of services, like connecting customers to top-notch stylists in the area. Supporting their mission to guide and empower women of color along their hair journeys.

Mayvenn’s new partnership with Walmart promises to make the Mayvenn experience even more accessible.

“Our partnership with Walmart not only allows Mayvenn to expand, but also gives women of color the opportunity to have a curated shopping experience, which isn’t always easy to find,” said Diishan Imira, founder and CEO of Mayvenn. “Mayvenn also prides itself on supporting other Black businesses by driving revenue to hair stylists, so this store has the potential to help more entrepreneurs in the area.”

“Supporting diverse businesses is a priority for Walmart. Groundbreaking businesses like Mayvenn are bringing a fresh perspective to an industry that should be equally serving everyone and we are proud to give them a space to do just that inside Walmart,” said Darryl Spinks, Sr. Director, Walmart Services. “We’re excited to be able to offer this amazing shopping experience to the community and continue to partner with Mayvenn as they grow.”
