Fort Bend County Judge KP George announced a survey via Facebook requesting county residents to complete a survey to express what they would like the county to do regarding COVID-19 safety measures such as possible orders for businesses to require masks.
“I know you are unsure about the future and want answers on measures we all need to take to save lives,” George said. “As #COVID-19 moves through our country, we here in Fort Bend County are doing our part to slow the spread and protect as many lives as possible. I want to give you, the citizen, the opportunity to have input in my decisions to protect our community.”

Earlier Sunday, George had reported that Fort Bend County has 118 new cases of COVID-19 and 31 recoveries from the disease with no additional deaths.
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo has already issued an order requiring businesses to have a safety plan that includes wearing masks after Tex. Gov. Greg Abbott advised county judges that they could implement such measures requiring masks in light of spiking cases of COVID-19 and coronavirus-related hospitalizations. Hidalgo's order is effective June 22.
