Katy ISD has announced plans to move forward with the 35th Annual Katy Folk Life Festival this Saturday, May 15 at the Kenneth D. Welch Outdoor Learning Center. The yearly event allows visitors an opportunity to learn about pioneer life by seeing how Americans dressed and lived.
The Welch Center is newly renovated, and visitors will be able to check out upgrades to the facility while they view blacksmithing demonstrations, weaving and spinning displays, Native American dancing and beekeeping presentations at this free, family-friendly event.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, social distancing is encouraged, however, because this is an outdoor event, facial coverings are optional outdoors but required indoors or in spaces where social distancing cannot be maintained.
The fun begins at 10 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m. at 6301 South Stadium Lane in Katy.
