Katy tops Houston area media poll for second straight week

For the second straight week, Katy topped the Houston Media High School Football poll after its week one win over Clear Springs. The Tigers garnered four more first place votes with 11 total, North Shore came in second place in the poll and had one first place vote, while Bridgeland also received one first place vote.

Tompkins was ranked No. 6 in Class 6A, dropping one spot after its win over Magnolia. Taylor and Cinco Ranch both received votes but did not crack the top 20.

In Class 5A, Paetow was ranked No. 2 and received one first place vote after a win over Barbers Hill, Fort Bend Marshall was ranked No. 1 while Manvel was ranked No. 3.

El Campo led the way in the small school poll, while East Bernard dropped to No. 5 after its opening week loss to Edna. Kinkaid jumped up to No. 1 in the private school after its opening week win over Second Baptist, Second Baptist dropped to No. 2.
