On February 10, 2025, Katy’s city council voted to put the following proposed charter amendments on the May 3, 2025, ballot:
Brenda Hunter Martin, a well-known community volunteer and organizer of local programs such as Relay for Life of Katy and Milk4Many, posted a statemen in support of all propositions in the Facebook group “City of Katy Residents Forum” on April 2.
The proposed charter amendments come from City Council’s ongoing efforts to improve how Katy’s city government serves residents.
A joint press release signed by seven former mayors of the City of Katy was provided to the Katy Times on April 7 by Skip Conner, who was mayor of the City of Katy from 1991 to 1995.
