Katy Responds, a local nonprofit whose mission is to repair homes for the most vulnerable in the Katy community, announced its most recent addition to the Board of Directors on August 22.
Scott Denton is the Global Pastor at Newlands Church (formerly Gateway Church Houston) and joined the Katy Responds Board of Directors in August 2024.
Denton has served in educational, non-profit and pastoral leadership positions for the past 27 years. He and wife Amy have four children and they reside in Sugar Land. He is also a licensed real estate agent and has served with Katy Responds in various projects over the past two years.
Katy Responds began operations in 2018 following Hurricane Harvey and the mission is to repair homes and restore hope in the community for those families who are the most vulnerable. Katy Responds has restored homes for 300+ families and continues to assist homeowners with much needed home repairs.
