Katy remained atop the Houston area high school media poll this week after beating Cy-Woods last Saturday. The Tigers received nine first place votes while Spring received one first place votes.

Atascocita moved up to No. 2 in the poll after its big win over Allen while North Shore dropped to No. 3 after beating Klein Collins. Tompkins was ranked No. 7, dropping one spot while Cinco Ranch and Taylor both received votes but were not ranked.

In Class 5A, Paetow remained at No. 2 for the second straight week after beating Morton Ranch, Fort Bend Marshall is No. 1 in the poll while Manvel stayed at No. 3.

There was a big shakeup in the small school poll after El Campo lost to Fulshear last week. The Ricebirds dropped to No. 3 while Huffman-Hargrave jumped up to No. 1, Bellville was ranked No. 2. Kinkaid topped the private school poll.
