Katy ISD has announced the release of a video to honor students in the KISD class of 2020 that are heading off to the military once their high school careers are done. The video was created to ensure the new service members are honored by their respective schools even though they won’t be able to attend delayed graduation ceremonies while they participate in military training.
“Due to COVID-19 and the postponement of Katy ISD’s graduation ceremonies, these students will be unable to participate in commencement ceremonies that will be held on later dates this summer. However, the District would like to honor their high school achievements and valiant decision to serve our nation with a special graduation video that will premiere Monday, May 18, on the Katy ISD Facebook page,” the announcement read.
The video will go live at 7 p.m. Monday evening, the announcement said. Once posted, the video will also be made available on the district’s YouTube channel.
