Despite the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, the Harris County Clerk’s Office announced on July 15 that the office would hold its fourth annual ”Back-to-School Birth Certificates Event” on Saturday, August 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chimney Rock Annex, located at 6000 Chimney Rock Road in Houston. HCCO holds this event to issue birth certificates for families who need their children’s records for school registration but cannot visit county offices during regular business hours. In addition, school supplies, backpacks, and other items are provided to ensure that children in the community get some of the essentials they need to return to school. .
“I am looking forward to this event and am grateful to our sponsors for their generous support,” said Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth in the press release. “Our hearts go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Beryl, which severely impacted Harris County last week,” said in her July 15 e-newsletter. “The resilience and strength of our community are truly remarkable during these challenging times. Together, we will rebuild and recover.”
