George appoints Schmidt to Gulf Coast Workforce Board

Fort Bend County Judge KP George has appointed Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kerri Schmidt to the Gulf Coast Workforce Board, effective June 17, 2021. As a member of the Gulf Coast Workforce Board, Schmidt will represent Fort Bend County in the business and industry seat.

Schmidt brings to the Board nearly 40 years of experience in providing management services for corporate and nonprofit clients in a variety of industries. Prior to her current position with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, she was the Director of the Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair from 2003 to 2010 and Senior Vice President of Guardian Savings & Loan Association for 16 years.

“I am confident that Kerri, knows the needs of our diverse community. Her diverse portfolio of businesses and relationships with employers throughout Fort Bend county, make her a prime candidate to fill the position on the Gulf Coast Workforce Board,” said Fort Bend County Judge George.

In addition to her professional experience, Schmidt has extensive training in management and hiring practices. She received a Bachelor of Arts in design with an emphasis in Business from the University of Northern Iowa.
